Michigan SNAP/EBT Bridge Card

A state initiative providing monthly funds to low-income residents for purchasing groceries. Funds are loaded onto a magnetic-stripe Bridge Card (an Electronic Benefit Transfer/EBT card) used at grocery stores, farmers markets, and online retailers. WIC Cash Value Benefit

A monthly, EBT-loaded benefit for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) participants specifically for purchasing fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables. It acts as a flexible, dollar-amount voucher ($24-$47+ monthly) designed to increase healthy food access. Apply here.

Senior Project Fresh

A Michigan program providing eligible adults (typically aged 60+) with $25 in benefits (often coupons or electronic) to purchase locally grown, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, and herbs from authorized farmers' markets and roadside stands. Running annually from May 1 to October 31, it aims to promote healthy eating and support local farmers. Apply here.

WIC Produce Connection

WIC Produce Connection (formerly Project FRESH) is a Michigan-based program that provides low-income, nutritionally at-risk WIC clients with additional, one-time seasonal funds ($30-$60 per family) to purchase fresg, locally grown, unprepared fruits and vegetables. These funds are loaded onto the WIC EBT card and are usable at participating farmers' markets and roadside stands from June 1 to November 30. Apply here.

MTU HuskyFAN Tokens

During the summer months, HuskyFAN provides tokens that students can use to purchase fresh produce, local artwork, and other goods at the local Houghton, Hancock, and Calumet farmers markets. Apply here.

Aspirus Prescription for Health

The Aspirus Fruit and Vegetable Prescription (FVRx) program increases access to healthy food for patients by offering vouchers to buy produce at local farmers markets.The program encourages healthier lifestyles through direct community action. UP Food as Medicine

The U.P. Food as Medicine program is a collaborative initiative in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula that addresses food insecurity and diet-related health issues by providing residents with vouchers for fresh produce, often “prescribed” by healthcare providers. Led by UPCAP, it supports low-income individuals with chronic conditions while boosting the local farm economy.

UP Fresh Food Access

The U.P. Fresh Food Access program, managed by UPCAP, increasses access to locally sources, healhty foods for foo-insecure residents in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It provides eligible residents with vouchers to purchase fresh produce, meat, dairy, and other items from local farmers markets.

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB)

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) is a nutrition program that matches SNAP/EBT Bridge Card purchases dollar-for-dollar, up to $50 per day in michigan (with some regional variations), to buy fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables. Apply here.

HONOR NATIVE LAND

Troemner Farm is located in Atlantic Mine in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We acknowledge this place as the ancestral and contemporary homeland of Indigenous Anishinaabe neighbors: Gakiiwe’onaning (Keweenaw Bay), Gete-gitgaaning (Lac Vieux Desert), Mashkii-ziibing (Bad River), and Miskwaabikong (Red Cliff).
